The Pima Image Comparison Tool (PICT) displays many of our Pima County orthophotos. Our MapGuide maps display the same orthophotos and is the usual viewing tool. However, PICT has unique advantages over MapGuide that make it the better choice for in-depth comparison of the various orthophotos. Your choice of orthophotos can be displayed as Independent Views, Tracked Views or Spliced Views by picking the buttons at the top of the PICT window.
While PICT excels at displaying and comparing orthophotos, it doesn't display other "vector" layers like MapGuide does. That is, there are no street centerlines, city limits, parcel boundaries, etc. Also, unlike MapGuide, there is no way to zoom to a location like MapGuide's Zoom Goto function. With PICT it may be tedious to find the area of interest and to know what you are looking at unless you are familiar with the area.
See the Pima Image Comparison Tool Help for help using PICT.
PICT is based on ER Mapper's (Earth Resource Mapping) Image Web Server software.
