Pima County Land Information System (PCLIS) - Product Description

Overview

PCLIS is no longer being produced and is not available. PCLIS versions were generated quarterly from September 1997 through January 2007. We've left this PCLIS information online for reference.

The Pima County Land Information System (PCLIS) CD is a collection of Pima County GIS data layers along with tools for viewing, querying and analyzing the data.

The PCLIS CD can be used with a licensed version of ESRI’s (Environmental Systems Research Institute) ArcView program versions v2.1B, v3.0, v3.1, v3.2 or v3.3. For users who do not have access to ArcView, a project locked "run-time" version of ArcView 2.1B called Data Publisher is available with the 2.1B version of the CD. This project locked version is missing some of the functionality present in a full version of ArcView.

For ArcView 8.x or 9.x users, the PCLIS tools are not compatible and therefore should consider the Pima County GIS Layers (PCLAYERS) CD which includes more layers in ESRI Shapefile format, but no application software.

The PCLIS tools available for accessing the data layers include, but are not limited to the following:

• three methods for querying the county parcel base data--by owner name, by taxcode or by address
• tools for zooming and panning
• tools for generating a proximity analysis
• a function for generating mailing labels
• a simple procedure for creating prints or plots of the data display

Here's what's included in the two Pima County PCLIS CD versions:

1. PCLIS for ArcView 2.1B - Includes a limited "run-time" version of ArcView.

   • Selected Pima County GIS data layers
   • An ArcView project file compatible with a fully licensed version of ArcView 2.1B from ESRI (Environmental Systems Research Institute)
   • A project locked "run-time" version of ArcView called Data Publisher
   • An ArcView project file compatible with Data Publisher
   • An installation wizard for loading the data and applications

2. PCLIS for ArcView 3.0 - You must have ArcView 3.x series software to use this version.

   • Selected Pima County GIS data layers
   • An ArcView project file compatible with a fully licensed version of ESRI's ArcView 3.x
   • An installation wizard for loading the data and applications

System Requirements

• IBM PC Compatible computer with:
• 550 MB of free hard drive space and a CD-ROM drive to access remaining data for Basic Data Install OR 750 MB for Full Data Install.
• Windows 95 or 98 or Windows NT 3.51 or 4.0
• For PCLIS for ArcView 2.1B: Project-locked ArcView 2.1B (included on the ArcView 2.1B CD), or a full version of ArcView 2.1B for full functionality.
• For PCLIS for ArcView 3.0: A full version of ArcView 3.x.
