Using Pictometry Aerial Photos

Pictometry is oblique aerial photography.
"Oblique" means the aerial photographs are taken at an angle rather than looking straight down.
Get ready to use Pictometry with these steps:
- Read the Disclaimer if you haven't already.
-
Be sure you are using Internet Explorer on Windows 2000, XP or Vista.
See Why Internet Explorer on Windows? for more on this subject along with a few
other viewing options.
-
Accessing any Pictometry Photo prompts you to install or upgrade your Pictometry Viewer software if necessary.
Or use
Pictometry Viewer Installation or Upgrade.
- Use the
Help button in the Pictometry toolbar to display Pictometry Aerial Photos Help for the
various viewer buttons and tools.

Problems?
-
Your screen will be mostly blank while the Pictometry Viewer downloads.
There is no progress indicator during the download and your screen may look like it's not working.
Be patient and avoid the temptation to abort the process.
-
Your computer may be configured to require ADMINISTRATOR RIGHTS for successful installation of the Pictometry Viewer.
The term ADMINISTRATOR RIGHTS refers to your computer's settings that allow you to install software and do other system things on your PC.
If you have problems installing or if you don't have ADMINISTRATOR RIGHTS rights on your PC,
contact your system administrator or support person.
If you are using your home PC or a PC that you maintain, then you probably have the needed ADMINISTRATOR RIGHTS.
-
You may be prompted by a thin gold-colored 'Information Bar' just below the Address Bar.
When prompted, choose to install:
ImageControl3.0, Pictometry International Corporation.
If you didn't see it, try to install again and look specifically for this gold-colored bat.
It may be directing you to allow the installation.
-
Due to Windows security features, Windows may restart the installation
process and you may need to choose 'Install' several times. This is normal.
