Description:
This well-rounded workshop covers the "spectrum" from remote sensing systems to digital image processing to GIS. Experienced
representatives from industry leaders provide teach the fundamentals of remote sensing systems and types of imagery, data acquisition and
management, image processing software and techniques, and the integration of remote sensing and GIS. ERDAS Imagine 8.5 will support demonstrations
and hands-on instruction. Students receive pointers, tips, and basic instruction on the use of Imagine 8.5. These lessons can be extrapolated to
many applications. Instructors use Ikonos and other satellite data to show the benefits of image processing and to explain theory behind the
spectral and spatial nature of imagery. Exercises include real applications of remote sensing for building, enhancing, or updating a GIS.
