The Pima County Special Needs Program provides transportation to persons with disabilities who reside in the unincorporated area of the
County within the special needs eligibility area. Specific information, maps, and eligibility requirements are contained within this website.
In 2005, over 60,000 passenger trips were provided to our disabled clients for a variety of needs including medical, shopping, and employment.
The service is operated by our contractor, A & K Transportation Inc. dba. Handicar. The clean, new vehicles include a fleet of wheelchair
equipped vans operating on clean burning compressed natural gas, and standard passenger vans for ambulatory clients.
